Simone has been a Newcastle local for over 25 years. Hailing from Sydney originally, Simone has led a rich life filled with excitement, twists, and turns.
With over 35 years experience in small business, living in Fiji and Sweden, Simone brings a wealth of knowledge and the buzz to The IV Lounge. Throughout her life Simone has worked in a variety of fields, including; retail, business brokerage, finance, tourism and hospitality. Her experience in these fields led her into health care, and after opening an allied health business, Hunter Allied Care in October of 2017, Simone felt confident that she could fulfil her and Grace's vision for The IV Lounge.
Simone is an avid believer in practicing what you preach, which is why she loves her weekly drips. After a serious motorcycle accident this year, Simone credits a large part of her recovery to IV Therapy.
In between running four businesses Simone loves to escape for weekends away, plan the next holiday with her partner Dr Peter Spittaler, and their two pampered pooches, Buzz & Midori. To know more about Simone follow her on Pinterest or Instagram
Grace may not be a born Novocastrian, but after moving here from Dubbo at age 10, she has certainly adopted the Newy lifestyle. Between grabbing a coffee on Sunday morning with some girlfriends, pilates, or her weekly tradition of a Friday night drink with her partner, Grace is a damn hard worker.
After living abroad for two years in Scotland and Bristol, Grace developed a natural style and taste that she then forged into a career. With a passion for design, Grace returned home and graduated from ISCD (International School of Colour and Design) with a Diploma of Design and a Diploma in Colour Consulting and Planning. The IV Lounge's sleek design and gorgeous interior is a reflection of Grace's vision and style.
After working her butt off in hospitality for 7 years, Grace began colour consulting before working for Dr Peter Spittaler as his personal assistant. It was there that Simone and Grace met, and the IV Lounge dream was born.
Between running The IV Lounge, being an awesome PA, and studying a Diploma of Interior Design, Grace loves snuggling up on the lounge with her fat cat Wilma in her cosy Carrington home.
Welcome to The IV Lounge, the first of its kind in Newcastle. The IV Lounge is the brainchild of one lazy afternoon, and two hungover women. From a simple conversation shared over Monday morning coffees came the idea for a business, and within the month the wheels were set in motion.
What started as a one stop hangover shop quickly blossomed into so much more. The more we researched intravenous therapy and its benefits, the more we wanted to explore what we could offer the people of Newcastle. So, with that in mind we developed our menu and started to focus on athletes, beauty and wellness, as well as a myriad of health issues like chronic illnesses and, yes, the occasional hangover.
We had a chat with Ed and Gia for 'Sunday Sesh' on Hit 106.9. We spoke a bit about our business, and what you can expect from the IV Lounge, plus what the business has been like so far in its first week! Have a listen to the interview below.
The first hydration bar has opened in the Newcastle region.
The IV Lounge is an intravenous therapy service that opened its doors in the inner city suburb of Wickham on 16 August.
The organisation is managed by a qualified and experienced team of professional medical and administration staff.
Its services appeal to athletes and sportspeople, people recovering from exhaustive activity, have been unwell or who have travelled, particularly on long-haul flights, are dehydrated or undergoing detoxification, or people with malabsorption issues including Crohn’s Disease. The use of IV fluids can also assist in weight loss and there are a number of wellness and beauty treatments available.
